Creative programmatic digital out-of-home activation leveraging a timely tentpole event delivers +51% overall site visit lift YoY for Bahamas DMO.
How do we cut through thick global media chatter and hyper-inflated digital CPMs around the 2026 FIFA World Cup to leverage a generation-defining event for U.S. tourism? That was the same question Nassau & Paradise Island (NPI) had when looking at new ways to lure travelers to their tropical DMO. We knew we had to capture travelers in an “experience-first” mindset. The 2026 FIFA World Cup was the perfect stage; this major tentpole event captured over 1.5 billion global viewers and drew over 4.6 million stadium attendees across North America.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup represented an unprecedented media event, capturing over 1.5 billion global viewers and drawing over 4.6 million stadium attendees across North America. However, mega-events of this scale often create extreme media over-saturation and hyper-inflated digital CPMs, making it difficult for travel destinations to stand out through traditional digital ads.
Taking into account the reluctance performance marketers have to utilize offline media channels, despite the fact that 76% of individuals react promptly to digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertisements, Net Conversion leveraged a game-changing opportunity. Rather than competing in saturated markets and expensive digital ad auctions, NPI could intercept high-intent soccer fans during moments of peak excitement, near host stadiums, transit corridors, and fan zones while simultaneously using geo-location analysis to confirm a direct increase in digital engagement.
Dynamic Placements That Turned Fan Energy into Travel Intent
To stand out amid the media noise, Net Conversion deployed a highly targeted event-driven visibility strategy focused on three key World Cup host markets, Miami, Atlanta, and New York, complementing NPI’s direct-flight feeder hubs.
To leverage the halo effect of the tournament, Net Conversion maximized exposure frequency and aligned brand sentiment with high-value audiences already in an experience-first mindset, prompting them to consider direct travel to the destination. Rather than relying on static, passive branding, the campaign included dynamic DOOH placements positioned along high-density fan transit routes, airport arteries, and surrounding stadium environments.
- Contextual Creative Integration: DOOH billboards were programmatically integrated with live match score overlays, allowing NPI’s destination messaging to appear directly alongside real-time World Cup action.
- Relevance at Scale: The creative tapped into fan energy, prompting travelers to transition from stadium roars to island shores by emphasizing the ease of hopping on a nonstop flight to Nassau & Paradise Island.
- High-Intent Targeting: Placements captured audiences already in a live, experience-first mindset, maximizing exposure frequency among high-value travelers during peak tournament windows expanding from June 8 to July 19, 2026.

Offline Exposure Directly Triggers Online Action
To dismantle the industry perception that Digital Out-of-Home lacks precise performance attribution, Net Conversion built a rigorous test-and-control measurement framework.
In the targeted activation markets, NPI maintained a consistent baseline strategy year-over-year, making the new DOOH campaign the single variable introduced during the tournament period.
Using our proprietary metrics ViV (View-Influenced Visits) and eViV (Engaged-Influenced Visit or 2+ page influenced-based visit), Net Conversion conducted granular pre- and post-flight geo-analysis:
- Geo-Fenced Physical Exposure: Isolated digital engagement originating directly from active DOOH zip codes and transit routes.
- Dual-KPI Tracking: Monitored real-time changes in organic search lift (brand interest) and website visitation lift (direct digital conversion intent).
- Incrementality Verification: Isolated market-by-market performance to definitively link physical offline exposure to measurable online performance.
Offline Media, Proved Digital Impact
By pairing real-time contextual creative with granular location analytics, NPI intercepted sports travelers at scale and proved that offline media can directly fuel digital performance: driven by Digital Out-of-Home as the sole strategic addition, NPI achieved a +51% total site visit lift year-over-year, with New York delivering an 87% website visitation lift and a 4.17% search lift, Atlanta sparking a massive 110.53% search lift and a 0.24% website visitation lift, and Miami generating a 9% search lift alongside a 1.29% website visitation lift.
